A learning disability is a term for a variety of disorders which affect a child’s ability to develop literacy and numeracy skills.

It is estimated that between 10% and 16% of Australian students have a learning disability, which includes dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. (The Age 2/4/16)

 

Each learning difficulty can present itself it a variety of ways. You can find out some of the signs to look for by reading through each description below.

Having a learning difficulty does not mean you child isn’t smart. Discovering the problem early can inform minor changes in their learning style which will have a positive impact on their life.
